Asuka and Bianca Belair had a confrontation in the last episode of Friday Night SmackDown . The Raw Women’s Champion (the Championship is named after Bianca Belair is now on SmackDown) appeared before the crowd in her hometown of Knoxville to celebrate her current reign with them.
Asuka interrupted the moment with her theme song and went up to the ring with the champion. Both fighters had already seen their faces at WrestleMania 39, where Bianca Belair managed to beat her for the count of three. For this reason, Belair was suspicious from the first moment, although she received the mist when she lowered her guard and ended the segment being intervened by the WWE medical team, a moment that you can see in full at the top.
Once the show is over, Mike Johnson, a journalist for PW Insider, reported that Asuka will take the role of SmackDown heel for a while . She will not only have that role because of her history with Belair, but with rivalries that could come later . “The idea of turning Asuka heel on the Smackdown brand has been floated, as PWInsiderElite.com has learned,” Johnson wrote.
Johnson has also noted that Asuka and Bianca Belair will meet at Night of Champions on May 27 , a match that is scheduled to happen at some point, but has yet to be confirmed. Apparently, the fight was scheduled to take place for a few weeks. “She was talked about against Bianca Belair for Night of Champions a few weeks ago,” he wrote.
