Watch Top Rank Boxing: Yoka vs. Bakole 5/14/22 Preview

Mexican Oscar Valdez and Shakur Stevenson meet in a 130-pound title unification fight this Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas that would also determine probably the best super featherweight in the world.

The action begins at 6:30 pm ET with the preliminaries that you can watch on ESPN+; the main card begins at 10 pm ET on ESPN+, ESPN Deportes and ESPN .

After Valdez (30-0, 23 KOs) scored a brutal knockout of Miguel Berchelt in February 2021 to win the WBC super featherweight title, Stevenson (17-0, 9 KOs) publicly pushed for the title shot. Instead, Stevenson settled for a shot at Jamel Herring, another Top Rank-promoted 130-pound champion.

The 24-year-old Stevenson seized his opportunity with the best performance of his career, a 10th-round TKO of Herring in October to take the WBO 130-pound belt. Long criticized for not fighting aggressively, the Newark, New Jersey native applied nonstop pressure during the one-sided blowout.

Now Stevenson has the fight he always wanted, but with two belts on the line.

While the Olympic silver medalist enters the fight with momentum on his side, Valdez is looking for redemption. The two-time Olympian tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug phentermine in August , just weeks before he made the first title defense he won over compatriot Berchelt.

Despite the ruling, Valdez was allowed to fight Robson Conceicao as scheduled. Valdez was a clear betting favorite, but he struggled through the first half of the fight en route to a controversial decision victory .

Valdez, 31, was ESPN’s No. 1 fighter at 130 pounds before being dropped from the rankings due to the failed test. Stevenson is currently ESPN’s number one super featherweight .

How do I see the Valdez-Stevenson card on Saturday?

The Valdez-Stevenson undercard broadcast will begin at 6:30 pm ET on ESPN+ with the preliminaries; the main one starts at 10 pm ET which you can also watch on ESPN Deportes and ESPN .
