New Japan Pro-Wrestling has confirmed the creation of a new women’s championship, the second in its history. The new NJPW Strong Women’s Championship will have its first champion at Resurgence, the event that will take place on May 21 at the Long Beach Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California.
For this, New Japan Pro-Wrestling will hold a tournament in which four wrestlers representing different promotions and parts of the world will participate: Mercedes Moné, Stephanie Vaquer, Willow Nightingale and Momo Kohgo . Moné and Vaquer will meet in the first semifinal, while Kogho and Nightingale will meet in the second.
